Schematics
The following model represents four separate ares of our resort. The top left is a schematic for our exclusively ADA accessible rooms for resort guests. The top right represents all of the restrooms in our resort in public areas (both women and men). The bottom left is an aerial view of our parking lot/drop of area. Lastly, the bottom right represents our lobby area. Below the photo is a detailed description of ADA specifications for each room that have been met for our guests convenience.
1. ADA Accessible Rooms- We at Suite Adventure have created an entire floor designated for our guests with disabilities. Our exclusive rooms provide guests with complete ease to daily functioning. Our rooms are equipped with flat bottom showers so that wheelchairs may enter freely, a lowered sink no higher than 34 inches, easily operable sink handles within ADA reach ranges, and a large, open area to move about. All protruding objects are high enough to be detectable, but low enough to access personal items. The bed is also lower to the ground to provide easy transfer. The bathroom door and entry door both have at least 32 inches clear opening, and the handles are no higher than 48 inches.
2. The Restroom- this model represents all of the public restrooms in Suite Adventure Resort. Each restroom has signage outside the door that accompanys braille lettering. The doorway is 32 inches clear and are equipped with accessible handles. The stall can be opened easily and complies with the 5x5 foot turn diameter. The lavatory rim is no higher than 34 inches and the pathway in the bathroom is wider that 36 inches. As for sinks, the ADA sink is low to the ground at 27 inches, above knee height, and within the designated reach range. Soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers are also easy to operate with a closed fist.
3. The Parking Lot/ Drop Off Area- Our parking lot has 5 accessible parking spots, which can accomodate more than 100 total spaces. The spots are 8 feet wide and have a 8 foot access aisle, and more than 98 inches or vertical clearance. The access aisle is part of the accessible route and they are closest to the enterance. The spots are all clearly marked van accessible, and indicate the fines associated with misuse of these spots. We do not have a ramp and the entrance because we do not have curbs outside of hotel.
4. The Lobby-The lobby area is much larger than 36 inches wide, and the entire resort is an accessible route. All obstacles in the lobby are higher than 80 inches for cane detection. There is always a 5x5 diameter for turning in the lobby. The carpet is low to the ground and securely attached, however, there is a rug at the entry way of the resort. This rug has a threshold edge of less than 1/4 inch. The counter where guests check in and sign up for programs is taller than 36 inches, however, we have a portion of the desk that is lower, at 36 inches. The depth of the desk is also less than 48 inches to comply with reach range.
We also have a drinking fountain and telephone in our lobby for guests. The drinking fountain has a clear space of 30x48 inches in front and the spout is less than 36 inches from the ground. The controls are on the front and side of the fountain and operable with a closed fist. The fountain also complies with cane detection ranges. The telephone in the lobby with a clear space of 30x48 in front of one of the phones. The highest point of the phone is no higher than 48 inches, and protrudes less than 4 inches into the circulation space. There are push button controls, hearing aid compatibility, volume control with signage, operates under a TDD system.
Our elevators and stairs are also accessed through the lobby. The elevator has visible and audible and the call buttons are no higher than 42 inches. There is raised braille lettering inside and outside the cab, and on every floor. The emergency intercom is also identified in braille and usable without voice communication. The stairs have treads to prevent slipping and continuous rails on both sides.
The next diagram highlights the features of the pool/scuba tank area at the top left, The top left highlights the rock wall area, and the bottom left shows the schematics of our restaurants.

1. Scuba Tank/ Pool- Our scuba tank is accessed through the second floor. The door leading to the deck has a 32 inch clearance and a Our dock in to the scuba tank has a no slip surface with tread. There is a zero depth entry in to the scuba tank, and we have a chair lift. The chair lift is a minimum of 16 inches wide and can be operated with no other assistance. Lift is located where water does not exceed 48 inches, under ADA requirements. The pool below is accessed from the first floor and features a zero depth entry around the entire pool. The lawn chairs are submerged in the pool/water at a portion of the zero depth entry and allow for an easy transfer if a guest wants to relax in the water.
2. Rock Wall- The rock wall is accessible through the first floor. The doors exceed the 32 inch clearance. We have harnesses and special equipment for accessible climbing. Our staff is also fully trained to facilitate climbing.
3. The Restaurant-Our dining facilities at Suite Adventure Resort are accomodating to everyone. When serving a guest with a disability, seating can be easily transformed by removing a chair to accomodate a wheelchair. Restrooms inside the restaurant comply with the general restroom schematic plan above. The doorways to enter the restuarants are double doors, therefore there is one 32 inch leaf.
